He'll kill the already shaky popularity of a frankly terribly-designed ttrpg and he'll poison the well on other brands wanting to sign on to Universes Beyond. Overall, it could be much worse, even though the damage that he will do waifuizing and AI-ifying MTG is going to be miserable.
I stopped playing D&D 2 years ago and switched to other systems (GURPS), and I stopped playing Magic a decade ago. If he wants to buy a dumpster fire, I say let him.
I have a reflexive sympathy for MTG because they have some fun art and such, but it seems like they don't want to do that anymore and are just doing fortnite metaverse slop for the majority of releases lately, so I guess we sadly aren't losing that much.
