Nothing happens for any "reason". Existence just is, and people really should come to terms with that.
The universe doesn't give a fuck about anything, it's just matter interacting, the only reasons are the laws of physics, which seem generally to be more like suggestions at times.
Finding the beauty in the never ending randomness is way more wonderful to me than thinking life is on rails predetermined.
