I'm kinda mixed on this. On one hand I want Elon tf out of my country. But on the other hand he's technically a US citizen and this will set the precedent for stripping US citizens of their status and deporting them for being against the regime and it's plans.
I don't think this would poses much of a additional threat, as the US legal system already appears to operate largely arbitrarily.
I think it's highly likely that Trump will pursue, deport, or detain other genuine political opponents who are US citizens on the basis of their heritage anyway. Therefore, I assume that this will be a thing regardless. The only difference with Musk would be that even the super-rich would no longer be safe - but hey, I'm sure that the courts will continue to make exceptions for people with deep pockets anyway.
Even if it's a thing regardless I'm not gonna support deporting someone even if I don't like them. If they can do this to Elon openly imagine what they will do to average people with no platform. I want Elon gone but not in this way.
That's true, of course — I completely agree with you. It's just that, with all the news from the US that I read every day, I've unfortunately become quite pessimistic.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things will turn out alright after all.
I completely get it. I just try to steady myself and look at things from an objective standpoint. People rightfully have strong negavtive feelings about Elon and I'm not trying to take that away from people because I do too. I'm just trying to provide people with a more objective perspective.
