No way that was ordered from a proper Italian pizzeria. That pie is way too thick.
You also can't order toppings they don't stock, so if they were really against it, they'd just decline to stock it...
Unless you are getting pizza al taglio, or sicilian pizza, off the top of my head. There is even a popular napalese pizzeria that has a pineapple pizza. Italy isn't a monolith, and each region can vary greatly on how they make the same dish, or even what they consider to be traditional foods.
Yeah, nah. A proper Italian pizzeria wouldn't have pineapple available as a pizza topping to begin with.

Wasn't canadian bacon invented in the US? We don't have it here in Canada, I think it's just peameal bacon. Why do Americans call it that, do you put maple syrup on it or something?

You can call it decadence all you want but wet pizza toppings are objectively bad for the quality of the pizza. It doesn't matter how much you pat it dry, that pineapple weeps liquid as it cooks and makes the texture of the cheese beneath it gross.
