My turn to be out on the Bellarine today for work. Ccccold. Wimdy

Also wish I could just hop over the bay it would be so much faster. Not looking forward to the 1.5hr drive back.

On a related note, why the fuck does a modern SUV (2022) with all the driver assist shit not have automatic lights, with the lit-up display I nearly started driving without my lights on while it was dark out. Idiotic

Been > a month since I've been down. Miss the place but not (!) looking forward to the weeds. Chilli patch is probably 90% oxalis by now :(

Yeah looking like prime weed weather these days. I am also traipsing through rows of rubbishy windbreaks dodging African boxthorn and mats of trad.

I thought all new cars had an auto light setting? I imagine it's something you'd have to select, no?

That's what I thought, hell, even my old 2011 hatchback has auto lights but this damn car does not have it as an option. Behold:

Why??!! And you'd think the solution is to then leave it set to on all the time (as the lights switch off when the car is turned off anyway), but some fool at work keeps changing it back to off grrr

Okay that's kind of funny. I guess old mate at work thinks that if you leave it on, the lights will be on all the time and the battery will drain?

In my subaru the lights went off with the car. In my toyota the lights stay on.

My old work Ranger would have light stay on, my current Toyota they turn off. I prefer the off option.

No idea. Maybe he's just used to doing it with his own car (which is much older, presumably like my old car - has no auto lights and lights don't switch off when the ignition is off). But really, bad design to begin with. Just have an auto lights option, Subaru!
