Change my view - why buy a luxury car? Great, your car has a nice engine, it's smooth on the roads, has cool lights. But I genuinely don't get why people buy expensive cars when that money could go towards a house deposit or a mortgage. I guess they might not have a house to pay off when they're buying one of these cars, but some are financing it. Why pay for some commodity with money you don't have unless you actually need it to live?

Maybe they like nice cars. They might like to drive and go driving for enjoyment.

Also, good cars tend to have better resale value.

I get that. It's like having 'good' chocolate vs 'standard' chocolate
