Isn’t -stan basically a racist trope?
is it a racist trope to apply the proto indo Iranian suffix for "place/land of" to words
To me, it means "place X is bad just like countries whose names end in -stan" and is regularly used by chuds in this way.
Those countries have committed the ultimate sins: they are Asian, they are Muslim, and some of them used to be in the USSR.
Also, Borat the Zionist made it popular to be racist towards Kazahks and that fits into this somehow
The only instance I think I've ever seen of self identified racists coining a new term for a place using the "stan" suffix is "Kekistan" which is their tongue in cheek name for a fictional country embodying the ideals of white nationalism. So not exactly used by them in a derogatory sense, quite the opposite
You've never seen the term "Londonistan" just as an example?
There was also Kid Rock selling a shirt in 2016 with "Dumbfuckistan" as the name for the blue states in the presidential election. I personally would avoid using that suffix in derogatory contexts because of the not-so-subtle Islamophobic connotation
