The poll, released on May 30 by Atlas Intel, found Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and former transportation secretary in the Biden administration, to be the top pick among Democrats who responded to the survey.

A total of 31.5% of self-identified Democrats who responded to the poll said they would vote for Buttigieg for president in four years, according to the poll.

Other surveys in May from firms such as Echelon Insights and McLaughlin & Associates have found Harris in first place in the hypothetical primary, making Atlas Intel’s poll stand out among the rest.

Harris is the third most popular pick among Democrats in the poll, falling behind U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.

I dislike Kamala, but because of bidens hubris, she was the best choice for 2024.

She immediately got access to bidens war chest and was immediately able to start campaigning with infrastructure and money…

Biden dropping out so late made Kamala the only real choice…

She was a terrible candidate who always chose the wrong way to campaign, but unfortunately she was the best candidate.

I really don't get this. The convention was still 2 weeks in the future. Why even have a convention if 2 weeks before it is too late to pick a candidate? Or do we just admit everything is fixed before the convention anyway and stop bothering?

Biden had $1billion dollars in his war chest.

The democrats needed that money to start campaigning, no matter the candidate.

Until they had an official candidate, the money couldn’t be transferred, potentially taking multiple weeks.

Kamala, since she was part of Biden-Harris, could use his funds day 1.

I agree that they could’ve had an open convention, but the $$$ was too attractive
