Hello fellow patient gamers!

Bit US centric, but I had the day off for memorial day. I was in the mood to catch up on my steam deck wear and tear with a good round of Civ5 BNW. I have had the long term goal of beating it on deity. Did not get there and the game might be lost due to runaway civ, but slim chance of turtleing down and going for a science victory.

Any games that you are still getting use out of while you wait for sales or for something new to drop?

Finally took it upon myself to play Kingdom Come Deliverance 1. So glad there's a healthy mod community. It's a wonderful story with an immersive world and addicting athmosphere. But the mechanics really show the indy roots. A lot of decisions have been made to remove quality of life to increase realism, without actually adding realism. Archery is the best example of this. No aim dot makes sense in a simulation. But why can't I aim then? I now have about a dozen mods that reintroduce QOL into the game and now I'm properly hooked and having a great time.

I actually like the lack of aim dot. A lot of the archery feels like it would be sort of trivial with an aim dot?

While it doesn't make archery feel like real life, it does add to the feeling of starting out as a useless peasant.

A gaming community free from the hype and oversaturation of current releases, catering to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.
