Bush stone curlew. That name not because they're murderous (magpies can also be called murder birds for that reason...), but because at night they give off a scream that makes you think someone's being murdered.

Don't forget the Butcher bird for murderous intent, or need. Hey first I've heard of this court case. Good luck with it all. I'm intrigued but none of my business.

Not my own personal court case. The one that's been the main subject of this Community for the last week.

I've never been swooped by a butcher bird myself, so my feelings towards them are much more positive. The have the same beautiful songs as magpies, with less of a murderous reputation IMO.
