Why can't the current president get aggressive cancer? Everyone would love that (although I would pity the cancer).

    The original concept of karma has you receiving both punishment and reward for every bit of both good and bad karma from your past lives. Nothing you do in your current life is dealt with until your next incarnation.

    Cancer is an umbrella term for a huge variety of diseases and once you reach a certain age you're likely to have at least one of them. It's just not worth treating if you are in your 80s/90s.

    I kind of think the "fuck cancer" online discourse is a bit misguided since it's the price we pay to have regenerating cells.
