No Hate Speech allowed whatsoever. This is a O tolerance policy. This goes for any form of hate and/or bigotry regarding race, religion, or LGBTQ+ identities.
While we will have discussions on political issues dealing with hate and bigotry AGAINST the LGBTQ+ community, please keep your comments respectful of ail parties.

- Respect the trans community
Respect the people who belong here. If you're confused what that means, here's a minor primer:
No asking to date trans people or otherwise meet up with them. No treating being transgender as a mental illness or as being lesser in any way. No arguing with trans people about their identity. No arguing with trans people about their vulnerabilities, including anything related to sports, laws, etc. This includes anything else that the mod team deems disrespectful.
- Stay on topic!
Posts should be related to the defense, advocacy, and restoration of LGBTQ+ rights.
This Community is for news regarding, as well as the discussion of, anti LGBTQ+ laws, hate crimes, and propaganda.

As a queer femboy;
There is no such thing as a "good" pope. There are bad popes, and there are worse popes. We should count ourselves very, very lucky that right now, we only got a bad pope. But the Catholic Church is an enitity quite like the United States, in that it's so monumentually evil than it even does good in evil ways. I'm not naive enough to think either will ever elect a good leader; my only hope is that their institutions eventually crumble and can be replaced with something better.
I've been trying to articulate that. There's so much historic and systematic violence that, like cops, there's just no such thing as a good one.
Absolutely. No amount of lies piled on top of each other leads to a good outcome. All religions are just lies and fiction passed off as reality. Whenever you start to distort the reality of your followers, you hurt them, their brains, and their ability to tell reality from fiction. On everything, not just religion.
They can't stop lying. If they do, then they admit that they have zero actual proof of anything. That the whole thing is the "Trust me, bro" of writers that died thousands of years ago and have had other writers change their works many times for many reasons.
It's been going on for thousands of years, hurting people in the same ways for hundreds of generations of your family and mine.
Religions as we know them lack any evidence for the supernatural bits. But this doesn't mean one can safely say there is no possibility of any religion being correct.
It falls into Not Even Wrong. Nothing more than a what-if question. There is nothing to discuss until evidence is brought to the table.
The fucking papal apologists come out of the woodwork here every time.
Fuck the motherfucking pope. He and every thieving pope before him have been or covered for kiddy-diddlers, and the Catholic Church has been a force for evil for millennia. And if you support them knowing all that, fuck you too.

There were options that were a lot, lot worse for the world right now. Not getting a Nazi pope is a huge win for progressives in the U.S. and Europe. I'm seeing some people on the net painting this as though queers lost our chance at having someone sympathetic in the papacy, when that just wasn't seriously ever on the table.
For sure, there's entirely too much negativity online lately, 100% behind being pleased when a decent thing happens, especially when a perfect thing absolutely wasn't going to.
