Nah it's 100% true. I say that as someone who's worked in oil and gas. These companies will push a lot of propaganda like "we are a family" etc and it works.
It works on Albertans and after years of working in oil companies they fall for the bullshit and then they see any kind of economic reform that pivots away from oil as an attack on them and their family.
It's extremely fucked up, not just the fact that ppl are brainwashed but the fact that companies are allowed to push this kind of rhetoric
