Results:

On Voyager mobile app, the quantity of punctuation typed = quantity of punctuation displayed in published comment

On desktop site, the results are interesting in how they vary

More than 3 exclamation points becomes 3 exclamation points

More than 3 question marks becomes 3 question marks

2 periods becomes 3 periods, 5 periods becomes 6 periods, 8 periods become 9 periods. Seems like the rule is if the quantity of periods is 1 less than a multiple of 3, then an extra period is added to make it a multiple of three.

Thanks for mentioning that. I had completely forgotten that “old” style was a thing. It is odd how some of the periods are larger than the others, as if they were bolded; must be that periods in ellipses (trios of periods) are smaller than periods not in ellipses. Screenshot for posterity’s sake

sorry for not catching that, i don't use the glasses when using the pc.. but closer inspection reveals it uses an ellipse where possible (three dots), which is narrower than the three individual characters it replaces.
