I agree that skipping content is the way to go, Lemmy is federated and all that, but I don't think it works with a post like this.

This post somehow got 1.2k likes but there's no real discussion in the comments (mainly about the author like we are discussing right now) and it doesn't contribute anything of value to the site. It's a post that most people probably scroll past without giving it any thought, like, and immediately forget - the worst type of social media content for which I don't see a reason to exist here.

I like Lemmy because it has a kind of "people using a website" feel instead of a "generic content slop feed" vibe like reddit, tiktok, ect. I think Lemmy, as a community, should encourage high quality OC content on the platform instead of accepting generic and forgettable posts like this and just saying "ignore it".
