Humiliating people that change their minds for the better is probably not the solution. But saying “no consequences, all is forgiven if we can move on” is how you get confederate general statues all over union soil.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I am perfectly willing to accept people who turn the page and abandon fascism, but there needs to be genuine contrition and a concerted effort on their part to set things right. Saying "oopsie" and then quietly going on with their lives safely away from the destruction that they've sown is not good enough. That Hans Landa shit doesn't fly.
