Do the Jug hooters even care at this point? About the whole antisemitism schpiel. The whole CHUD argument for crueler immigration enforcement against Central Americans or Haitians was that it opened up jobs or raised wages. Do MAGA folks even want to go to Harvard? The entire point of “elite colleges” is just to be a culture war punching bag for them. You’ve already banned all the queerish books at the local library, where are you gonna fight the culture war once the Ivies are all PragerU?
I haven't heard the phrase "jug hooters" before but I'm already caught off-guard by this being the correct context for it to fit into.
It's a reference to people blowing across the opening of empty/partially filled jugs to make music in jug bands, it's an improvised instrument in USAmerican folk music along with spoons, stove pipe, washboard, washtub base, and a comb with paper.
I always envisioned it as whitest and most vocal of the MAGA set. Typically exurban or rural. Strange bedfellows with the Silicon Valley technofeudalists.
Jug hooters.
They care insofar as it is being used to bring "leftists universities" to heel, and bend over backwards for Trump. But this is more of conservative intellectualism DEI. Cause the Columbia case proved they just want make-work programs for conservative idiots in big prestigious universities.
