Valeriano Orobón Fernández, born on this day in 1901, was a Spanish anarcho-syndicalist theoretician, trade union activist, translator, and poet who wrote the lyrics of the revolutionary song "A Las Barricadas".
Orobón believed in the organizational power of unions, believe that they would have a major role in reorganizing society in a more libertarian fashion. Orobón was also strongly opposed to the communist (i.e., Soviet) ideas in Spain during the Spanish Civil War.
Shortly before his untimely death from tuberculosis, Orobón wrote the words of "A Las Barricadas" to the tune of "Warszawianka 1905 roku", itself a well-known Polish revolutionary song. The anti-fascist tune became the anthem of the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT), and one of the most popular songs of the Spanish anarchists during the Civil War.

Been jamming with a pal from work and gsve him a guitar I wasn't using. He took lessons but never learned power chords and also cause he's a slipknot and prog guy he's been putting the cart before the horse many a time like getting the guitar professionally set up for drop d which just made it harder to teach him powr chords cause there are now 2 kinds. Easier to play but he wasn't getting his head around 2 different hand shapes and why. God bless the guy, he's been listening to discharge and learning their songs as perscribed and intuitive why I sent him disorder is cause it's how he drums. It is hilarious for me to be tradjing anyone music but I do know how to cut through the bullshit and crank out sick riffs. Learn some bullshit after that. Homie sent a pretty solid recording of a cover of Never Again.
