Microsoft stresses that Copilot Memory "prioritizes security and privacy, giving you control through the user dashboard and the option to choose which types of information it remembers about you or to opt out entirely.“

Why aren‘t they just transparent about how they use what‘s being memorized? If all of that was a local .json file that is never communicated with servers, there would be far less reasons for concern.

To me, this sounds like „either you opt out or we will use and sell all your data“ which is…

… not surprising at all
