Tomorrow Mill Creek: Stand Up for USPS
(lemm.ee)
The City of Fountains, Paris of the Plains, the Heart of America.
This community is for discussion about Kansas City and the Kansas City metro area.
Wouldn't dismantling the USPS dissolve a monopoly and create competing services? Having worked at USPS, it runs like a heavily outdated private company. NALC could even continue to unionize each new company and insure that employees are treated fairly. They might lose some power but USPS will lose much more.
Are NALC branches divided on this idea?
Nothing stops private companies to compete right now. UPS and fedex already compete in package services. Simple fact is, usps is already operateing lean in the mail services and the USPS isnt beholden to shareholders. Usps already had to enshitify themselves because of the dumbass congress forcing them to prefund pensions for future employeers that arent even born yet.
