Ugh… I think I planted everything way too late. I’ve just planted the pumpkins out and already the leaves are starting to fall.

I’m wondering if I should make that compost bin to dispose of the leaves but it requires buying a drill (which I would probably have to do in person due to parcel thieves) and then either getting the (expensive) outdoor bin delivered or trying to scrape out some time for someone to drive me to get it.

I could use a plastic tub I have but they’re a bit small and not uv safe so will crumble apart and leave compost everywhere.

And I wonder if I would even use the compost. Getting a bit discouraged about gardening. Lately it seems everything I do here just backfires and becomes more trouble than it’s worth. Also wondering if it will stay warm enough to properly rot things down if I start it now.

I could ask someone to pick up my order…

But compost bin to deal with leaves, yay or nay?

compost bin to deal with leaves

Yea I do. Some of the waxy leaves take a bit longer though. Is good stuff!

How many leaves to dispose of? A whole deciduous tree or just the old garden prunings? If it’s not many, a zero effort alternative is just scatter the leaves around the garden beds. They will dry or rot depending on the weather, act as mulch for a while, and then breakdown into the soil. Natures compost, just like in real environments. If you have foodstuffs you want to dispose of, that’s different and composting is the way to go.

Quite a lot from an a-hole neighbour’s deciduous tree, also grass trimmings from invasive grass originating from another neighbour.

I could do that but it looks really messy and Karens try to report my yard
