No cat should be relegated to just a timepiece! Yes, they are excellent at timekeeping, but so are lizards and violets! Much more convenient.
I don't like to haul around all that gear, so I usually just shed a tear born of empathy on the exposed root of an oak tree to get the time. They aren't as accurate, but there's always one nearby!
I mean... I clearly understand that choice, but just be careful its a tear you can spare. I've run out before, and boy it made the next level total shite. If you aren't concerned with accuracy, maybe consider consulting the local birds? Especially your corvids. They are everywhere and always have a decent estimate.
