I was at a dinner recently with an adult cousin of mine who is autistic. He said the r-slur which shocked me as he didn’t really come across as a guy like that. Ive known him for many years and could barely believe what I had just heard. I asked why he said that word and he replied “Its okay, Im autistic, I can say it”. I am autistic too and don’t use that language, but what do you think hexbear?

He's got his own way of coping with a lifetime of bullying. I don't think he meant to offend you. The attitude is like this: "There's nothing you can say to me that I haven't already said to myself".

It's not okay that he speaks of himself and others like that. He's doing psychological self harm. I used to do it too.
