This is hilarious because Jackson Hinkle was tweeting like China was some anti-LGBTQ paradise
PatSocs like him were cancelling Cuba for "falling to liberalism" because of their progressive family law, while upholding China as some sort of socially conservative ideal for communists to follow. When in reality, China has better things to do like raising everyone's living standards instead of chud culture war shit.
China literally has official trans healthcare
Yeah, they even opened a clinic specifically for trans kids. I wonder how dipshits like Hinkle would cope with that.
I think China’s indifference to LGBT+ issues gets misconstrued in the West, because indifference here means people get hurt. China literally has Trans healthcare. Yeah, they don’t have same sex marriage but that doesn't seem to be a big issue, at least it’s not something they’re thinking about solving right now. I do not know what their laws on discrimination are, if there is any, but regardless the idea that China is a conservative paradise is very weird. Just because they’re friends with Russia doesn’t mean they feel the same way about LGBT+ people. It’s like you said, they are not interested in the culture war, and rightly so. It’s just a distraction from class war.
I'm not familiar with specifics of PRC law but I remember even The Economist reporting that a trans woman won a discrimination law suit in China back in 2020.
I do remember that case! Not the specifics of course, but its existence. This just dismantles Hinkle’s (and MAGAcoms) whole schtick.
