I was out walking once and this woman got out of her car to talk to me and wanted to know what I was doing there. I said I was taking a walk, but then she demanded to know why I was standing in front of her house, looking horrified as she did so.

She was relieved and felt silly when the answer was.

"I was walking along the street and I happened to be walking past your house, when you stopped me to talk, and now I can't really leave while you're still talking to me."

She apologized and realized she was just being paranoid.

I can perfectly understand, I get paranoid too sometimes.
