I don't think the dems thought they could win the election. They just picked a bad candidate who would not hurt them as bad as Biden down-ballot. Biden had to take away the covid measures, withdraw from Afghanistan, and be involved in 2 major wars one of which is a genocidal war. They could not win this election, they just picked a candidate who they consider bad so they can burn her.

this was at the very start of her campaign, where she probably had to make a cut back from her xanax or benzos abuse to get serious.. and withdrawal from those substances often causes major issues with agitation, impatience, and impulsivity. her campaign probably also threw adderall or whatever into the mix, which, for non-ADHDers, can have those same side affects

after biden endorsed her we saw a pretty sharp shift from her usual giggling takes-nothing-serious high ass self to a much more serious person, who had pure rage in her eyes when protestors interrupted her rally for a few seconds. other withdrawal symptoms include anxiety, insomnia, and nausea, which could explain why she was on-and-off evasive from public appearances and interviews, and her performances were ridiculously inconsistent
