Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
- Politeness.
- Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.

Don’t be a self-absorbed asshole on the internet. Not everything is about you. The seller put effort in the description, and if you’re too lazy or too cool to read it, you’re the asshole. Especially static information, like in this case the height or color, won’t change, so your argument is moot here.
The price listed on the listing is the price the seller intended to list. If it changed, the seller will update the listing. Of course you can ask for a discount, but please don’t bother people with stupid questions that are already explained in great detail just because you feel entitled. Thank you.
Well said, thank you.
There's truth in both your response and the post you're replying to. The seller did take the time to list the relevant information right there on the sign, but he didn't have to adopt this "OK idiot" attitude when the potential buyer started asking questions; because, while the buyer may be an idiot, there are a lot of idiots in the world, and we should err on the side of empathy instead of judgment. In this scenario, the seller is basically doing the "like I said..." thing that everyone p. much unanimously hates. So, when the buyer asked his dumb questions, the seller should have simply answered them---after all, what is the buyer trying to do, ultimately? He's trying to sell the product; he should not be trying to correct someone's mental handicap (however minor or severe), because, if he made that his goal, he'd need the patience of a literal saint and all the time in the universe.
Lemmy nerds, man
Here's where you were wrong:
Does that make sense?
Other people are allowed to have contempt; that's how we got the image in the first place. My experience isn't wrong just because it offends you. That's you making it about yourself, hypocrite.
My point was that the seller often forgets to update the listing, or makes mistakes, or has life happen to them, and so it's always ok to ask about stuff that's written down. You seem to be arguing that the seller will always update the listing, which is measurably false, and indefensible in debate. I'm not sure why you brought it up at all.
I didn't mention discounts and neither did the artist. You're grasping wildly at topics not covered here to support a flimsy position and frankly, it's not worth my time to discuss it with you.
If you want more information you'll have to look it up yourself or pay my billable rate. I assure you it's out of your price range.
My time is valuable and you've wasted enough of it.
If you respond to me again I'll block you without reading.
Well, thanks for proving my point. You clearly are the asshole in this story.
Don't waste your precious time, I'll block you right after this 👍
Full disclosure, I looked at the first like five or 6 posts your profile to verify if you were a troll or not, and I came across something alarming.
You have multiple posts asking about how to run your own instance and basic things of how it functions. I really hope your instance is private because the ideology that you put in this post is so hostile that I would feel bad for your instance users.
Disregarding the fact that the chances that someone would forget to update their post versus that being the price listed is fairly low, your entire statement on wasting time is so hypocritical that it made me do a double take.
If the seller wasn't going to give accurate information they wouldn't have added the information in the first place.
But honestly that's a moot point, the more alarming thing is if you have this type of ideology for a simple disagreement on the internet, then you're going to be super aggressive towards anyone who's going to reach out to you for help. And the fact that you own a community that's literally called ask Lemmy that's meant to be a carryover for when the other community doesn't work this doesn't look good.
I'm not looking to have a response from you so don't worry about it, and I'm not saying this as an insult to you. I'm just saying how it looks to a random person who looked into it.
You're projecting; I'm not the one getting into a disagreement on the internet. I posted a top-level comment and people (including you) disagreed with me. You are guilty of the thing you are accusing other people of. That's projecting.
Using the term "hypocritical" to describe my content when I've kept true to my original statement is false. You didn't follow it up with any support so I'll dismiss it as brain clutter, which it is.
If you're digging through my post history and trying to prove that I'm a troll, it's not because you care about my users, it's because you're personally offended. You haven't mentioned a single user except me. You're falsely claiming to care about other people when what you're really doing is picking a fight and losing. Take it back to the schoolyard, kiddo. This isn't for you.
Same treatment as the others; I'll be blocking you without reading your next comment to verify that you've read and understood my response.
If you are going to go down that route at least acknowledge, as part of your question, that you've read the posted info and are confirming rather than asking blind. The seller's time is valuable too and they are potentially dealing with this same conversation 20 times over.
You have completely missed the point of my comment. Not sure if it's critical thinking or reading ability but I couldn't have been more clear so I'm not sure how to help you. Best of luck.
When everyone else is wrong/the asshole/misunderstanding, it's time for self assessment.
Why are you saying everyone else is wrong?
