It’s VERY targeted towards Pride jerseys.
Hockey is still stuck in the 20th century. I hope they someday catch up to the rest of us in 2023.
I mean, is it also getting rid of Hockey Fights Cancer (Lavender) and Military Night (Camo) ones?
Or are there some exceptions but conspicuously none for Pride?
Yes, they are also removing those nights. However - there is no doubt that this is in response to the controversy surrounding the Pride nights and the players who refuse to participate. Banning all “cause-based” nights just gives them an excuse to say it isn’t discrimination.
Here’s an article from a few months ago where Bettman specifically calls Pride night “a distraction”:
