I have some "friends" from Latin America, mostly Mexico and El Salvador. And they are very, very religious and vote conservative because they want the US to be a christian theocracy and all that entails. They constantly parrot Trump. The way they talk really has scared me, made me distance myself from them to save my mental health. They also want to keep immigrants from Latin America out of the US. Like I have heard a Mexican guy just go on and on about wanting to keep other Mexicans out, really just saying how much he hates them without saying the word hate. Just no irony. I've heard that God is trying to burn down CA and all the other states. They don't have a problem with gay people, they just want them to act heteronormative and not mention being gay. They say it is normal to be repulsed by trans people, and they don't hate them they just want them to stop being trans. Even the women are no hope, very anti-choice because they believe democrats are killing newborn infants. I've tried telling them that is not happening and most abortions are in the first trimester but they kept their fingers in their ears saying look at this one case from nearly 20 years ago of a doctor doing it which means ALL doctors are doing this every day, constantly. Their conspiracies are facts, it just is, especially if their pastor said so. They downplay how dangerous pregnancy is too because they had healthy pregnancies, they don't even acknowledge how bad our mortality rates are. And no, they don't think their god emperor Trump is going to go after them because they are LEGAL and this elevates them above the others.

I wish I could say my Puerto Rican relatives are better but they aren't. My Gen Z relatives raised in my blue state are very anti-feminist and anti-trans. One is gay and out but still holds these views.
