If you read all of the words I said its clear im not saying that gender is binary anyways.

It's pretty clear

It was not clear... not to me and others too it seems. I quoted your removed comment because I was so confused. But I think we've already gone over that misunderstanding. Your modlog is public, and is usually what this community looks at, but I get the feeling it has reopened that wound, for that I am sorry. I have said things wrong as well and take the L from them, and learn from them. We are not perfect. Your explanations here were much better, thank you for explaining. I try not to be intentionally hurtful, but even I fail at that.

Lemmy didn't have much content at first so you would run out of things to read after a while. It felt friendly at first, but certain topics still set off people at lemmy to the point I thought about leaving. Then lemmy seemed to improve and I could talk about those topics again, but now there are more trolls (even ones that seem to follow you around since they troll each post or comment talking about something) and spam bots that weren't there before. I think a lot of conflict on forums like this has to do with miscommunication, but sometimes people are just mean and there isn't a fix.

In that case, you completely fumbled your comments (it does sound transphobic). But as I said, you can improve from this. Saying what you said instead that you think gender should not be considered a binary between men or women, and cutting out the rest, would be an improvement and open dialogue.

Edit: just to be clear, I am not calling you a transphobe. I think there was a miscommunication with your removed comment and it is why I tried to clear that up.

commenti feel like “non gendered” or something is more appropriate than “non binary” and people just latch onto the term because “binary” sounds all futuristic and information age. and before someone explains binary: “there are 10 kinds of people, those who understand binary and those who don’t” i mean, people are free to associate however they want, it just feels a little forced to me.

My only guess is that about a month before I got banned for saying, (and I am sorry and I really am not trying to hurt anyone and I'm not invalidating anyone's existence)
Is that "nonbinary" is not the most accurate term for people because it, seems to me, to imply that gender is binary. The offensive part is because I think it's popular because the concept of "binary" is popular... (I'm a programmer, I love binary).
It's not like, a big deal to me or anything, I just think there's a better term out there or waiting to be made. non-gendered or something makes more sense but doesn't sound as cool...
I stated my opinion indelicatly and I get why my post was removed... But not being called transphobic or banned from that com for life because I questioned the temporary ban, and then a month later 20 more comms like I'm a Nazi just trying to harass people or something.

I read your removed comment on your modlog and it seems the community did not want you to start a debate and flame war about gender identities. I can understand since nonbinary is not a "futuristic" sounding name that they chose to sound "cool", they are people who are not men or women, but very much do have genders. The nonbinary umbrella is quite large and full of genders. Your comment seemed like you only see man and women as valid genders while nonbinary are seen as nongendered to you, do you see how that comes across? Nonbinary people do have genders, that is why nongendered does not fit at all. They should be the ones to choose their name. From what you said about questioning the ban, it may have been beneficial to listen to them. No matter how close you are to the trans community, you can still make mistakes and say transphobic things. Even women themselves can be misogynistic. But hopefully you can learn from this and improve, we can all improve. I only brought this up as it seems to be relevant to the ban from this post.

Edit: forgot to mention agender matches the term you want to use, nongendered. Nonbinary is not necessarily agender.

spoiler

However my gut feeling says this person spamming accusations against the mod is themselves the mod, and their entire goal is to create as much drama as possible....

Can you edit this part out? Kinda hostile tbh.

Edit: thank you for editing, a simple kindness of an edit can mean a lot to others.

Vulvas can be washed with water and unscented, mild soap if tolerated but not vaginas, they are self-cleaning.

"this implies correcting misinformation should be discouraged"

"I report that community rule violation, that is not trolling as I see it"

"I am respectful of the rules of communities"

This is a small snippet of your history. It's a 2 hour ban, you can either chill or not, up to you.

[-] YarrMatey@lemmy.dbzer0.com 39 points 11 months ago

Your conduct is off-putting and should be discouraged, to say the least. Hence a 2 hour ban. Db0's agreement with you was not made with me. It seems like you want it to be a rule that the db0 instance is a safe haven for trolls, effectively putting it at risk of being defederated by other instances.

Hi, I am the PTB that banned this user for 2 hours. As what was explained to you in the appeals channel, you've been trolling for months and when the person you troll gets mad, you report them for things like 'incivility.' You've done this many times to multiple users for months. That is why you were banned, not because of a specific thread and report. This was a warning to you to knock it off, as was explained to you.

It was not made known to other admins that you had contacted db0 in advance of making your account that you were using your account just to do things like this. It makes a lot more sense now why there was this leeway. I thought trolling other users was against the rules, but it seems the rules are muddy about it. We have often been warning people through 1 day bans to knock things off. So your timeout seemed appropriate.

How do you gals feel about something like this? This hasn't gone through clinical trials so still early stages.

I had such bad reactions to the Mirena IUD and minipill, I've been on the oral combo BC since then. I wish I didn't need hormones but they help with heavy/painful periods (even skipping them), birth control, and the estrogen helps with acne. I'm not sure if I can give myself a shot 😬 I'm pretty squeamish around needles and bad with pain.

I enjoy well-done romance in games. It's just a taste thing.

Ahoy ye maties! I be one o' the new admins 'n am happy t' be on the crew! 🏴‍☠️

A little about me: I've been pirating since I was a teenager and gravitated towards this instance because of it, I am a FOSS and privacy enthusiast, and since joining lemmy I have become ✨radicalized✨. I'm a bi cis woman and my pronouns are she/her ~~on the internet, nobody knows you're a woman~~. I have 2 senior dogs I love very much. I like anime, art, and video games. I also ate too much imposter chik'n and am now going to pass out.

I'm female and bi and it is definitely noticeable when someone is staring at my chest and it is very uncomfortable. When I was younger there were certain guys that rarely looked me in my face and were just looking at my chest the whole time. I asked other girls about it and they agreed they too felt them gazing at their chests and it was really uncomfortable and off-putting for them as well. If you wanna help then tell them discreetly to tighten their bra straps. Otherwise I don't find it acceptable to stare at a woman's chest. A glance maybe but you should really be looking at their faces. People are not meat or eye candy, don't objectify them, just remember the person they are inside. There may be women ok with it and like flaunting it but that's not been my personal experience.

I love the app so far but I am having trouble with opening Lemmy links from other instances. When someone links to say a Lemmy.world post, I am hit with a window saying I have to have a Lemmy.world account in order to vote and such. This is incredibly inconvenient, I don't know how voyager does it but voyager just lets me view the post and vote/etc. in my instance without forcing me to change accounts. Anyway to get rid of this behavior so it is more like voyager? I want other Lemmy links to be opened in my instance so I can vote and such.

Also unrelated but just now I was unable to upload a picture from summit and had to switch apps to upload the photo.
