It was a bit, and I know for a fact mankind has been to the moon. I've been there myself on multiple occasions. I spread crystals of my frozen piss on the US flag.

It's pretty old. Earliest reference I can find is a 12-year-old reddit thread on r/WTF. Apparently he was one of many people holding a flag and shaking it to make it look like it's waving, but the zoom makes it look... different.
