The only period of diminishing atmospheric Co2 concentration in recent history was the COVID lockdown, so halting production and destroying wealth seems to work ÂŻâ \â _â (â ăâ )â _â /â ÂŻ
we are not suggesting running around and shooting billionaires, that's not a revolution, the Bolsheveik revolution didn't just assassinate the Tsar, there was more.
if saving nature is profitable, why isn't there an insanely rich person who solved global warming yet?
You can't just paint targets and hope their absense will make things better; you have to have ultimatums, so that they and their peers have incentive to change.
He didn't start Tesla, he bought his way in. The guy hasn't had a single original thought in his life. He just invests in companies that sound cool to him, he doesn't give a shit about the future or the current state of humanity. And he stole that wealth by exploiting the people that work for him. Stop idolizing wealthy people.
Adding to this, he tried to do the whole "X" thing at PayPal and they removed him from his board position because of it. Fortunately for him, he had already bought in with his generational wealth and was able to simply fail upwards from there.
Lemmygrad is a Marxist-Leninist instance, commies or Tankies or whatever you know it as, if you're interested in like learning about it and discussing it you're free to do so, but Capitalist apoligia isn't allowed here.
Simplifying things beyond their meaning doesn't make you intelligent, it makes you look like baby, "Revolution is when boom boom"
The guns in the comic and the title of the post are for a revolution, yk just like the "glorious" american "revolution" that yankees worship. revolutions need violence like it or not, the ruling class will not give away its position easily and it will send its dogs to bite us (Police, Army, Fascist militias... etc).
The only solution rich people have come up with is lying and pretending normal people are responsible so they will buy greenwashed products that wonât make much an impact. Individual electric cars are highly energy intensive and rely on metals mined by child labor, the real solution (accessible public transit) is simply not profitable, the car lobby wonât allow it. The other solution they have is pumping chemicals into the sky to bleach it and artificially block the sun. Is that really what we want? The US military is the number one polluter, whenâs it going to be profitable to end them? It wonât because militarism is where the moneyâs at. Also, rich people didnât deal with Covid because of their wealth. Millions died because they wanted people to get back to the office and buying things. The people who got rich were entertainment and tech companies. The vaccine wasnât developed because rich people knew what to do, it was done because the government paid companies to do it and let them keep the money. They then stopped people from getting access to good vaccines through intellectual property and patents, allowing them to get even more money.
Well yea, for example in my country some problem solvers got rich during COVID by overcharging the state for imports of medical and hygienic supplies, because our industrial network is so eroded due to globalization-relocalization that apparently we aren't even able to manufacture some simple face masks anymore. Wealth accumulation never stops, even in a recessive scenario. It just gets accumulated in less hands.
(Edit because bad english)
End of civilization would solve the problem for once, but I'm afraid we are not so close. The wealthy will adapt and continue business as usual. Only the poor will suffer.
We donât want to destroy wealth, we want to harness it to the needs of the masses and the planet, not for mindless dragon gold piling or endless growth.
How about "stop the resource hoarding ghouls who are continuing to ravage the planet despite knowing full well the irreparable damage they are causing"? Did you really need this spelled out for you?
Wealth is not the problem. Individuals wielding wealth in a way that hurts the rest of us is the problem. Not all rich people are overtly evil. But some are, and acknowledging that seems like as good a place to start with a solution as any.
In case the message isnât clear, the message is to destroy wealth until it magically saves the world.
What do you think should be done with guns that will solve the climate crisis?
đ”revolution, the only solution
The armed response of an entire nation
Revolution, the only solution
Weâve taken all their shit
now itâs time for restitutionđ¶
System of a Down goes hard most of the time 100% of the time

Then what are the guns in the comic and the title of this post for?
Itâs⊠a meme title. On a meme comm. Oh my fucking god please liberals stop concern trolling

bro I suggest you go to another Lemmy instance, you're on Lemmygrad rn

Define âcapitalist apologiaâ as differentiated from discussing Marxist-Leninist âshoot people to solve world problemsâ ideology?

I remember the rich during the beginning of COVID saying a lot of us should die so the economy keeps rolling.
The covid lockdown disrupted the global economy, starting WW3 and thereby putting human civilization at risk.
End of civilization would solve the problem for once, but I'm afraid we are not so close. The wealthy will adapt and continue business as usual. Only the poor will suffer.
Did you just blame a future world war on COVID lockdowns?
I canât imagine unironically agreeing with this
Are you trying to crack a joke? It's hard to tell.
We donât want to destroy wealth, we want to harness it to the needs of the masses and the planet, not for mindless dragon gold piling or endless growth.
Then what did you intend to represent with the gun pointed at the dollar in your title?
The proletariat can always use force to reappropriate the wealth that is stolen from us.
So whatâs the missing link in the [redacted] plan here?
How about "stop the resource hoarding ghouls who are continuing to ravage the planet despite knowing full well the irreparable damage they are causing"? Did you really need this spelled out for you?
Ok I guess this guy makes a good case for commiting adventurism
