On the one hand, I have connections to the industry and Lemmy just say it suuucks for everyone on the project when something like this happens. On the other hand, it couldn't happen to a more litigiously evil company and fuck them and their anti preservation efforts.

Too bad the collateral damage will be pretty cool devs and other genuinely good workers, and not the corpos or legal who are just parasites at this point in the industry.
