I don't see how their defeatist attitude added anything to the discussion, so I had to call them out on it. I don't have a solution either, but I see the benefit in world leaders getting together to at least have a record of the issues we are facing.

After some consideration, I will venture an opinion. I agree with your assessment of the importance of the meetings. I would suggest that, per FlyingSquid’s comment, keeping past failures of similar efforts in the forefront of our minds as we gather, is vital if we are to make any forward progress.

They should take away the positives, and negatives from those past meetings, rather then dismissing them entirely. Have something constructive to say or don't say anything at all.

You don't need an alternate solution to know something won't work.

Despite not having a solution for how I can have a night of passion with Winona Ryder, I know that sending her sexy pictures of myself in the mail won't work.
