doesn't this kind of become a little sus once you consider people who don't want to/don't have the ability to get bottom surgery or HRT but still consider themselves entirely transmasc/transfem? Sex is both a construct of what we interpret and something individually experienced, you shouldn't have to go through or even want any specific procedure to be transsexual
Like, what if I identify with transsexual even though I don't want to go through bottom surgery? Am I supposed to not identify with it because I don't want to "really" become female? Do we really want to make a "man-fake", "woman-fake", and "Real Man (penis haver)", "Real Woman (vagina haver)" type classification again from scratch? I don't think so. What about people who are cis but also intersex? Are they not "male" or "female" because they don't want to get their genitals changed?
I recognize the complexity of sex. That's why I use transsexual. It's a fuck you to the metaphysical liberals who effectively say I will never be a woman. I changed my sex before getting the surgery you know.
Edit: Sex in human society is a social relation. Hegemonic ideology hides this with post hoc biological justification. Of course they do this. They are 1. Enforcing their regime 2. Hostile to dialectical analysis. The use of essentialist, metaphysical theories on sex is ideological class warfare on gender minorities and effectively counterinsurgency against dialectical (effective, correct) thinking.

Even before that point, people aren't usually immediately assigning gender to others on the basis of their genitals.
I read transgender as people changing the gender assigned to them at birth.
