Is there a "best" or "preferred" method of posting GIFs or mp4 video? (lemmy.world)

Imgur doesn't seem to integrate well into the Lemmy architecture, what's the current "best practice" for posting GIFs and/or small mp4s like we used to have on v.reddit.com that looks good and plays well with expandos, etc.?

I'm wondering the same thing. Just adding the gif directly to a post doesn't work with the expando, though it does work if the reader clicks through to just thr gif. When I post on lemmynsfw, redgifs works with the expando but the gif only plays once instead of looping. Playing once is fine for longer gifs but for short gifs it would be better if it looped endlessly IMO.
