The whole meme about them running the Internet is their own in joke too. Seems similar to when conservatives claim to be a silent majority.
it's actually more of a tech industry in-joke than a furry in-joke. it's also at least somewhat based in truth.
That's close to my point. The subculture is so small there will be far more non-furries spreading the memes than actual furries. They started within the group though. A guy wearing his suit to work on Halloween then talking about it on social media is what started this particular one about them running the internet.
