Shouldn't removing Jesus from his torture device be a good thing? I could never understand the logic behind worshipping the thing that killed and subjected their god to pain.
Your mistake is trying to think of Christianity logically
Christianity is build around guilt and penance. So of course the main christian religious figure would be in helluva of suffering too.
And anyone trying to stop the suffering is eeevil~. I seriously don't know why they thought it would portray bolsheviks in a bad light.
Because God decided that death was necessary punishment, and God obviously doesn't have the power to change God's own decision, so God had God take a weekend vacation which apparently counted as death
Specially when one of the main teachings is the suffering of the main figure is our fault.
Our fault after we were deliberately set up and lied to lol
