Aren't contribution limits a thing? Or are we done pretending that our politicians aren't bought and paid for?

nominally there a limits but the rich just donate however much they want to superpacs which are basically just front organizations for the politician.

I'm aware of all of the loopholes that exist now, but I didn't think the rich were just coming out and bragging about how they flaunt the very reasonable laws regarding contribution caps.

Probably donating to a Super PAC and not to her directly.

they have figured out how to get the individual contribution limit up to $926k via funneling donations to all fifty-one state parties and the DNC. I believe Hillary's team is the one who pioneered this but I'm not sure

Harris Victory Fund accepts contributions of up to $926,300 from a person and $410,000 from a multicandidate committee (“PAC”). The first $3,300/$5,000 from a person/PAC will be allocated to Harris for President for the general election. The next $41,300/$15,000 from a person/PAC will be allocated to the DNC. The next $510,000/$255,000 from a person/PAC will be split equally among the Democratic state parties from: AK, AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, and WY. Any additional funds will be allocated to the DNC.

A contributor may designate his or her contribution for a particular participant by contacting [email protected]. The allocation formula above may change if following it would result in an excessive contribution. Contributions will be used in connection with federal elections, may be spent on any activity as each committee determines in its sole discretion, and will not be earmarked for any particular candidate. Federal law requires us to use our best efforts to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employer of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 per election cycle. Harris Victory Fund does not accept contributions from corporations or their PACs, unions, federal contractors, national banks, those registered as federal lobbyists or under FARA, SEC-named executives of fossil fuel companies, or foreign nationals.

Yea HVF was originally the Hillary For America fund and they did the same stuff. Since Harris was literally Hillary's plan B, I have no doubt she has the same donation bundlers and donors.
