Was your family protestant? If they're protestant they're probably ulster scots (scots who lived in northern ireland province of ulster for a period of time before coming to the US) from northern ireland rather than Southern Irish who are usually catholic in religion
I know my dad's side has a ancestors who fought in the revolutionary war..
But my mom's native so her family has been here far longer than even his lol
Yeah you're dad's probably motly scots irish. Still irish just originally from Scotland. Then moved to the north of Ireland and finally to america America.
