[Tobi Gruener] Initial test runs on a wet track at Silverstone using "spray guards" have not been successful. Mick Schumacher was running the prototype "wet weather package" on a Mercedes. A McLaren driven by Oscar Piastri was used as a reference car.

From the reading of the article, the design they tried didn't reduce the spray enough and was pretty ugly looking. They could do bigger fenders but then they're likely to run into aero problems so they're still trying to figure out something
