Ignore the haters. Thanks for the post.
I don't mind it but I'm vehemently anti-downvote and want to know more. To me, downvoting is the laziest and worst part about social media since it got away from its original use of removing off-topic posts and comments.
And no worries. It's starting to feel like a full time job. If I could get every different website into one RSS reader, it might not be too bad and I could pick and choose articles rather than searching. Losing access to a computer and doing it all on the phone sucks.
I agree, downvoting doesn't really serve a purpose other to give lazy people a way to avoid discussion and debate. The older forums I frequented always had a much higher quality of poster, because people were actually there to talk to each other instead of mindlessly doom scroll and disagree with one button press.
Yes, I don't remember upvotes or downvotes in forums and there was no trouble figuring out what was worth reading or not. I can see the use of it for sorting algorithms but I don't even think it needs to be visible for that.
I don't downvote or use the car horn on the road. There is something wrong with me obviously.
We are the same then, I don't use the horn either. Only for warning people about an impending crash and even then I'm usually too preoccupied with not crashing lol
If you watch Daahcams Aus, I think a lot of crashes happen because people are preoccupied in attempting to use the horn rather than not crashing!
Watching that channel regularly made me a much more cautious and alert driver. I don't trust anyone anymore lol
It's funny you say that, but a lot of times it's after the idiot has already gone that I actually think about hitting the horn. And then it's "Well, there's no point now and it's only gonna be distracting to other drivers who aren't asshats..."
It's often I think I could have been that idiot (since driving mistakes are easy to make) and how would I feel being beeped for something I was clearly aware of. Doesn't solve the issue or prevent it from happening. The fact so many of us are on the road driving these killers is ridiculous, we could have had 60 years of public transport development instead and been way better off in nearly aspect; from tyre microplastics, to fuel consumption, to road maintenance costs.
The only time the beep is necessary I believe is when someone is about to back or merge into you. A clear goal of prevention.
Do you mean some feeds wont load in the reader you're using or were you speaking figuratively?
Some sites dont have feeds. I suppose I could work on the conversion but ... you know ... Ive got other things to do.
I'm hoping one day people will start adding better or more important links to the list and then I can start focusing on reducing the overall numbers of sites. Plus, having other people posting will break it up.
