Had to keep it real with a Vietnamese teenage boy and inform him that Koalas are not naturally cuddly and in fact can be quite vicious and scratch you. Only Koalas kept in captivity will tolerate at best human contact.

Honestly no native animal in Australia is friendly really. They are outright hostile, dangerous or at best avoidant.
