Article:

The sheriff of an Ohio county recently asked his followers on Facebook to keep track of people in their neighborhoods who are openly supporting Vice President Kamala Harris's presidential campaign.

Local news station WKYC reported that Portage County Sheriff Bruce D. Zuchowski told his followers to "write down" the addresses of people who put Harris-Walz signs in their front lawns so that he could drop off any undocumented immigrants at their residences.

"When people ask me... What's gonna happen if the Flip - Flopping, Laughing Hyena Wins??" Zuchowski, who took office in 2021, wrote on Facebook. "I say... write down all the addresses of the people who had her signs in their yards! Sooo... when the Illegal human 'Locust' (which she supports!) Need places to live...We'll already have the addresses of their New families...who supported their arrival!"

WKYC reached out to Zuchowski to ask him questions about his Facebook post but he had not responded as of Monday morning.

Although Donald Trump won Portage County in 2020, recent election data suggests that there are tens of thousands of likely Harris voters living there.

According to the county's official tally, Trump received 45,990 votes in the county, while President Joe Biden received 35,661 votes there.

These people and public officials are pretty petty.

The governor of Ohio will send law enforcement and millions of dollars in healthcare resources to the city of Springfield as it faces a surge in temporary Haitian migrants that has landed it in the national spotlight.

Republican Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said Tuesday he doesn’t oppose the Temporary Protected Status program under which some 15,000 Haitians have arrived in the city of about 59,000 people since 2020, but said the federal government must do more to help impacted communities.

Two more Ohio laws restricting abortions have been blocked by the courts as the legal impacts of a 2023 constitutional amendment guaranteeing access to the procedure continue to be felt.

Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Alison Hatheway issued a preliminary injunction Aug. 29 that extends an existing order temporarily halting enforcement of a law banning use of telemedicine in medication abortions.

A judge in Ohio has issued a temporary restraining order against a security researcher who presented evidence that a recent ransomware attack on the city of Columbus scooped up reams of sensitive personal information, contradicting claims made by city officials.

The order, issued by a judge in Ohio's Franklin County, came after the city of Columbus fell victim to a ransomware attack on July 18 that siphoned 6.5 terabytes of the city’s data. A ransomware group known as Rhysida took credit for the attack and offered to auction off the data with a starting bid of about $1.7 million in bitcoin. On August 8, after the auction failed to find a bidder, Rhysida released what it said was about 45 percent of the stolen data on the group’s dark web site, which is accessible to anyone with a TOR browser.

Absolutely devastating story. Gaudreau was supposed to be in his sister's wedding today. Instead, he and his brother were stuck by a drunk driver while cycling last night.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Sales of recreational marijuana will begin this week in Ohio as the state’s Division of Cannabis Control issues the first dual-use dispensary certificates of operation on Tuesday.

This comes nine months after Ohio voters approved Issue 2 back in November to “to legalize the possession and use of marijuana by individuals aged 21 and over.”

People who live near East Palestine, Ohio, can now get $25,000 apiece for any injuries they sustained after last year’s Norfolk Southern freight train derailment on top of whatever money they get for property damage as part of the $600 million class-action settlement.

The lawyers who negotiated the deal have increased the estimated injury payment from the original $10,000 because they now have more information about how many claims there will be. One of the plaintiffs’ attorneys, Adam Gomez, said the original estimate was conservative to ensure that no one will receive less than they were promised as part of the settlement.

“We are not looking to over promise and under deliver in any way shape or form to the class,” Gomez said.

The lawyers plan to hold a Zoom call for residents Thursday evening to explain why the health payment is increasing and why they believe it is the right amount.

That payment for health problems is on top of the up to $70,000 households can receive for property damage. But to get the injury payment, residents who live within ten miles of where the train derailed have to agree before the Aug. 22 deadline to give up the right to sue the railroad or anyone else involved down the road even if they develop cancer or other serious health conditions later.

If you have an Enquirer sub- another article here- https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/politics/2024/07/23/its-official-ohioans-will-vote-on-whether-to-remove-politicians-from-congressional-and-statehouse-re/74336416007/

I feel like this is a no brainer no matter which way you lean. We should want fair districts and actual representation.
