Dave Gnukem is an open source retro-style 2D scrolling platform shooter, inspired by and similar to Duke Nukem 1 (a famous original 1991 game that launched the Duke Nukem series). It currently runs on Windows, macOS, Linux and various other platforms. It is written in C++ and uses the SDL library. It features an integrated level editor. Note this is not really a 'clone' or a 're-make'; it is probably most akin to a parody.

In this online roleplaying world, with a gameplay reminiscent of Ultima Online and Runescape, players develop characters along a semi-classless system, though the pace of mastery hinges on their character's attributes, engaging in strategic Rock, Paper, Scissors combat through point-and-click, delving into intricate crafting systems like the notoriously complex alchemy, maintaining immersive IC roleplay, and establishing themselves by building or renting customizable castles, mansions, or houses.

Hey folks, We’ve been working on InlineStyle Gaming, a browser-based platform where you can play a curated selection of FOSS games or play emutated content using FOSS tech like DOSBox and WMSX.

Right now you can play:

  • Tyrian
  • SuperTux
  • LBreakout
  • Beneath a Steel Sky
  • Abuse, Celeste, Knightmare Gold, SD Snatcher, Daggerfall …and more to come.

We are trying to grow the catalog with new games every week.

✅ No install, all playable directly in the browser.

✅ No ads, no telemetry

✅ Cloud save support for InlineStyle members

It’s part of the InlineStyle project, a European, open-source, fediverse-first alternative cloud, and part of the gaming section will always be free to use.
