Greetings everyone,

We wanted to take a moment and let everyone know about the [email protected] community on Lemmy.World which hasn't gained much traction. Additionally, we've noticed occasional complaints about Business-related news being posted in the Technology community. To address this, we want to encourage our community members to engage with the Business community.

While we'll still permit Technology-related business news here, unless it becomes overly repetitive, we kindly ask that you consider cross-posting such content to the Business community. This will help foster a more focused discussion environment in both communities.

We've interacted with the mod team of the Business community, and they seem like a dedicated and welcoming group, much like the rest of us here on Lemmy. If you're interested, we encourage you to check out their community and show them some support!

Let's continue to build a thriving and inclusive ecosystem across all our communities on Lemmy.World!

  • 🤔 One of Apple’s most famous accessories seems to have been discontinued
  • 👋 The Lightning to 3.5mm jack adapter has sold out in the US
  • 🌎 It’s also not available in other countries
  • 🎧 The adapter was introduced in 2016 when Apple removed the headphone jack from the iPhone 7

The Reserve Bank of India's planned cloud platform will use local IT firms, pitting it against the likes of Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and IBM Cloud, in a first-of-its-kind initiative from a major global central bank.

Let’s be happy it doesn’t have access to nuclear weapons at the moment.

According to Google's Subprocessor List, they added LXT AI Inc. for voice to text processing services who are based out of Canada, India, Romania. According to LXT's website, they may be actually using this data for AI training... This sounds very concerning. Anything you say will be sent to AI company's servers, and essentially be their property... So if you're using Voice to Text to pitch a new idea or game designing docs... They can steal it? is that how it works?

As many users seek alternatives to X, rival social network Mastodon says that its official app downloads are up 47% on iOS.

Mastodon founder Eugen Rochko says downloads on Android are also up 17%, while total monthly sign-ups rose approximately 27% to 90,000.

The open-source X rival functions much like its competitor, the site formerly known as Twitter, on the outside. However, unlike the centralized Twitter, Mastodon consists of thousands of different social networks, which are integrated into a web it calls the "fediverse."
