Thinking about changing the setup in my house from being WiFi only to running ethernet throughout. Is there any reason this setup wouldn't work? More info in comments. in c/[email protected]

You don’t need Cat 6 to connect to the switch. The Nest WiFi (not Pro) only supports Gigabit. Getting a higher spec’d cable for that short of a run is a waste of money.
