Arguing about who said what at this stage is pointless. Did Biden halt arms sales, or did he double down on sending them? If you are trying to stop a genocide you don't send thousands of tons of weapons to a genocidal maniac

What manufactured goods does America even make that are not for military purpose? I'm sure there must be something.

The US foreign policy goal for the last thirty odd years has been to maintain its position of sole superpower status. This means ensuring that no other state should accumulate enough economic and strategic weight to rival it.

So let's remember, this is not just about Trump, he is just a big mouth on the front end of it. Every president before him was just as toxic, they just lied more convincingly.

But although the US has overwhelming military dominance – as we know from the Vietnam war, it doesn’t mean they would win any conflict, and its recent track record is pretty much all failure.

Assuming the aim was to win the wars rather than just destabilising/destroying the country they were fighting against.

I don't think they are reliant on US trade anyway.

Of course they would rather trade than not trade, and losing the market would hurt, but only about 15% of China's exports go to the US.

as freedoms dwindle

More like, as US funding dwindles.

The U.S. State Department on Thursday accused

Can anyone provide a trustworthy source?

Also, it is fine for the US to enable genocide, to slaughter thousands of innocent children, but wrong for anyone to try and stop it? The US government, both sides of it, is just fucking vile.

although Malaysia claims parts of the South China Sea over which Beijing has staked out near-blanket sovereignty.

Interestingly, Taiwan also claims the same "near-blanket sovereignty" over the South China Sea but western media never bothers to mention that

a war with each other that neither actually wants

When have you ever known the US to not want war?
