I'll have to check out the ram. I know it boots and network and hdmi work but will have to dig out a spare keyboard to try to log in and see what it can do

Yeah. That's a big problem in the current reality, what is "Ai" besides a sale term? Hell from the game dev world there has been a "generative Ai" for years which took "trees"(pre-made images and meshes) and allowed you to kinda "brush" a forest down which kinda looked normal as none of the trees were in straight lines or specific distances.

It is probably ip based since they are asking for your ip. Unplug your modem for 10 seconds, plug it back in, and you will get a new ip address and should be to access the site again

Do you know the first words spoken from a native American to the pilgrims?

"Can I have a beer?"

No, I'm not joking. It was a native American named Samoset. He spoke perfect English and had crossed the Atlantic 6 times.

That is interesting, I dealt with purely internal software so never considered that.

I think this is the problem with legacy code. It's not that it's old but that 35 people each with their own coding standards and practices.

That's not the scary part, it's a fortune 500 international company whose customers could die if the product didn't work...

One thing as a government you should never do... Piss off the military, they control the guns.

The government is shut down so soldiers aren't being paid...

We shall see what happens

You are right but I would love to see that court case. "yes your honor it said the character was copywrited at the beginning of launching the game and the full legal text was available in the options menu but if you pressed square, triangle, then square when the match was 3-2 and the opponent was at 172% stock the copywrite symbol didn't appear so I thought that instance was fair game" and the judge just responds "no"

Yeah, it wouldn't be bad if it was done correctly (a little slack and a service loop) but they did everything super tight. What makes it worse is a bad cable is often an intermittent issue and we are a low volume high profit company who can not retest so every time a cable goes bad it's typically several thousand in lost product.
