Game developers should never use upscaling, develop everything at native 4K with 4K ultra textures, and for playing at lower resolutions the game can remove pixels for lower resolution. Similiar to how 4K recorded video looks better at 1080p than 1080p recorded video.

For framerate and GPU performance, we are now in the 4K capable GPU market and only getting better every 2 years. In 2026/2027 people will NOT require the top GPU for native 4K 120fps which means 4K GPUs are only going to get cheaper and cheaper, not for price but can start pairing a lower GPU with a 4K screen.

Upscaling is not available on older games, some of those are more popular in terms of favourites than brand new releases, and upscaling is inconsistent across games that have it.

The smoothest performance across a random 20 to 30 games will always be to only play at native resolution with no frame generation technology.

Am I alone in being completely in being against all frame generation due it it being simulated gameplay? I max out ever graphics setting but disable DLSS/FSR and play on native with a lower FPS.

I have it, I have not played it through, only played half an hour to an hour, but I will trust you and play it through soon to give it a proper try.

I would describe it as software that is not 100% open source, and/or connects to services that run is not purely open source software connecting through standard protcols. It can't have a proprietary connection.

Basically, if both the software and the service do not run reprodible builds of the software, it is an anti-feature. For example, Proton, Telegram and NewPipe are open source apps, but the source code for their servers is not published so it's a proprietary connection or servers run proprietary software, so those apps have anti-features.

I suggest RiseupVPN.

There are good free market capitalists who are trying to expose corporatism to distinguish it from capitalism with healthy competition that makes locally owned services and businesses, some of those even get to know their customers. Coporations believe they are entitled to everybody else's money while only doing the token minimal for very large amounts of money.

I would like to find a indie military first person shooter single player campaign but it is a massive struggle. I don't like any space creature shooter games like Doom series.

Have you considered the possibility his whole YouTube gig was always a scam? Look at how 1995 his website is. Has ever done a video teaching how to do anything technical so viewers can do something themself? He's a talker. There's no evidence of having IT skills.

His audience is the uninformed, don't know any better. All he does is talk. People are better search videos and watching a random person showcase how the work is done for people to follow along and teach through examples. Rob doesn't show anything, only talks about it.

For all viewers know, all of his videos might be his opinions based of what others say, but give him a terminal or a shell and a keyboard, he might not know how to do anything.

They have always been for mass killings and genocide. For proof, ask them what should be done to people who reject Muhaammed. Ask them what should happen to someone who quits Islam and becomes atheist.

Does anyone know why every release is not available through F-Droid? For example F-Droid has version 5.5.2 and the latest stable is 5.5.5. In the buildlog it looks like F-Droid gets the soirce code for every release. It assume it is not successfully compiled in order for it to never end up being released.

If you pick a JMP number, you can port your JMP to a cell service, and a cell number can be ported to JMP.

I believe, but I may be wrong, that cell/mobile companies get a different batch of numbers from VoIP companies, so if you port a cell number to JMP, it will likely still be believed to be a cell number, but I can't say 100% concerete for sure.

It's exclusively my phone number using Cheogram app from F-Droid. I paid for 2 numbers, one number is for bank and credit cards, I use that number to call financial places or verify login. My other number is my personal number and for Molly/Signal, etc.

Since JMP only requires XMPP, a federated service, it's essentially an anonymous phone service, and if you travel internationally, you connect to wi-fi in a different country and can make local calls to anyone back home.

All it is is a VoIP number, and some services detect a VoIP number and require a cell number, but you can port your cell number to JMP, you don't have to have a new number from JMP.

Why does it seem people online will openly degrade anyone but out in public everone runs from confrontation? Why is there such social paranoia in public and too scared to socialize with strangers but will happily insult everyone online? If people are so lonely, why don't they talk with people whil le they are out and exchange contact info? It seems more enjoyable talking with immigrants and better to avoid Canadians. I'm not bothered by dealing with someone talking stupid or if someone wants a friendly hug, it's quite easy to have a good time with strangers and I have no concrns about giving my number to continue talking.

How is such a ruling possible?

[-] [email protected] 7 points 2 years ago

Given how the quality of new releases and zero new games being worth the price, I have not bought a new release in over 10 years, maybe 12 years. I can't justify the price vs. what companies have been putting out.
